Two Award-Winning Films That Are Pretty Average

Antonia's Line - 2 stars (average)

A disappointment for me. The postscript said "Winner of the 1995 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and many other prestigious international awards, Antonia's Line, the remarkable story of a woman who builds a new life with her daughter in a quiet Dutch village after World War II is. Earthy, sexy, romantic and full of laughter and warmth, it is a pleasure to several generations celebrating the simple joys and lastingPassions. "

Shoot, it sounded good for me, but it did not just live up to its billing. There is a dark side to this film, that the Postscript is not observed or mentioned. Yes, it's a little sex, some romance, some terrible moments, some tender moments and some moments of multi-generations.

There is also a daughter who wants (and that) is a baby, but has no need of a husband and father of her newborn child (proof, I suspect that Hollywood is not the first to go here).

There are two brutalRapes of children (of course) adds to the wholesomeness of the family, a wannabe movie. It is downright cruelty mixed with all the fun and laughter. There is a cold-blooded murder.

But perhaps the most nagging question is the total absence of spiritual development is not anybody in this film, including a priest who was having sex with a young girl in a confessional (no wonder Hollywood has made this film an Academy Award) manages.

The people in this film have no faith in God, they are simplypassing time until their last days. Whatever your religious beliefs that some spiritual development is a really good idea in this world, and it is possible to practice spiritual development, without having a religion.

The Bible is the word fool does not mean that someone who is stupid, but someone who orders his or her life as if there is no God.

This would be a much more meaningful film if the person who wrote the script recognized the existence of a higher power than theOver time, simple pleasures and enduring passions. I did not see a better man for this film.

If you have a much better foreign film with subtitles, as the Oscar-winning film, try The Chorus (Les Chroistes in French), an absolutely great movie for the first time director Christophe Barratier, to my knowledge not yet acquired any price whatsoever.

The Aviator - 2 stars (average)

Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Howard Hughes in a filmHughes captures the lives of his arrival in Hollywood to the onset of his illness, which forced him into seclusion for the rest of his life.

Hughes was a billionaire, was also a great visionary in the field of aviation and a movie maker of some note. His obsessive-compulsive disorder, he shortened his contribution to the world, but not its effect.

DeCaprio is nothing less than sensational in this acting assignment. He was nominated for the Best Actor Oscar, but lost to Jamie Foxx in Ray, theHistory of Ray Charles. I have not seen Ray yet, but believe that DiCaprio is not an Oscar, even though he had won from Foxx act.

The reason for this is The Aviator is a tough start, and is not nearly as likable film as a film about Ray Charles that is loved by everyone who heard his music and its history.

The start of this film shows his mother planting the seed in his mind that he will never be of germs, which he bought in secure and it affects him the rest of his natural life. CateBlanchett won, the supporting actress Oscar for her role as Katharine Hepburn in the motion.

The plane had 11 Oscar nominations and five wins, Blanchett is among them. Despite the performances by DiCaprio and Blanchett, I can not give this movie a 3 even though it was my intention to do this is that the film was simply too negative and too graphic in the presentation.
